Hi The coach zone,
Welcome to this weeks Get COACHd on Friday.
I have been doing some reading this week and came across an article that explores the maturity of a supervisee.
Along with this comes a definition.
“A coaching supervisee is a coach who co-creates an equal, collaborative partnership with a supervisor in order to share and reflect on (their) work, gain perspective, learn, develop, and resource themselves and ensure that their practice is ethical and effective for their clients.”
?The article then moves on to ask us to consider our supervisee maturity. I have captured a graphic below to help in your understanding. The full article by Louise Sheppard can be accessed via Coaching at Work : Vol 13 Issue 3 p28-32.
The purpose of this is not to provide a prescriptive model as luckily we all have different requirements and experiences, but to suggest that any ‘maturation process takes time’ and that it helps us to ‘envisage supervision as a life-long journey’.
