Hi The coach zone,

Welcome to this weeks Get COACHd on Friday.

On Monday, I start a course on sustainability at Aston University. I am asking myself a question at the start – how can I be more environmentally responsible in the activities that I am involved in. No doubt, over the next few months, I will share a few gems with you. Part of the reason of doing this is pushing myself out of comfort zone. I understand very little about the theory and potential options open in this space. If I can do my bit then that will be a good thing.

Pushing out of comfort zone… I had a smile as I wrote this.

I am embarking on this course, in the same way that I did the Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) – to become a wealthier person.

What do you understand though by my mention of the word wealth?

I am teasing – forgive me.

Wealth to me is way way beyond financial richness and includes intellectual, environmental, and community wealth. Elkington outlined some of these thoughts through his triple bottom line thinking – and this resonates. By putting myself in growth way, I will personally grow and be able to contribute more to those around me.

Some reflections to ponder:-

  • We each have our own motivators, and consequently our own definition of wealth – so what is yours?
  • What could be your next step to generate greater wealth?

One aspect that fascinates me is about where the future is taking us. Future tech, future thinking and future processes promises to impact that way that we operate. In a recent LinkedIn poll, 93% of respondents indicated that they could see coaching or training delivered through Virtual Reality. Automation is on agenda and streamlining our business should lead to increase customer happiness. Isn’t that we are about?

On October 19th, I am running a 90-minute webinar to share, discuss and explore our conflicting thoughts of the future of coaching. If you are interested – more information is available at The Future of Coaching on Eventbrite.

A belated congratulations to those that completed the London Marathon a few weeks ago. If you achieved a PB, raised some money for an amazing cause, or completed another stepwise challenge for you – well done you!

So to this weeks reads. It is a pleasure to be able to share these with you for the purpose of your development. I mentioned this a few months back, but the system does get smarter the more you browse the topics of interest to you. It should present more of the same interest, and I promise the occasional curved ball to satisfy the out of comfort zone piece.

See you next week.
